Su investigación se centra en el estudio de los mecanismos celulares y moleculares involucrados en la reproducción femenina, la obesidad y el cáncer, con especial énfasis en la señalización celular, la comunicación intercelular y la fisiopatología de enfermedades que afectan la salud de la mujer. A lo largo de su trayectoria ha desarrollado investigaciones sobre el impacto del ambiente proinflamatorio en la función reproductiva, la resistencia a la insulina y el metabolismo endometrial en mujeres con fallas reproductivas, así como en la progresión del cáncer de vesícula biliar.
Actualmente lidera un proyecto de Inserción ANID orientado a investigar cómo los factores asociados a la obesidad y la infertilidad alteran la señalización y la comunicación celular, favoreciendo la aparición y progresión del cáncer en la población femenina chilena. Su trabajo integra enfoques de biología celular, biología molecular y modelos experimentales para comprender los mecanismos que vinculan las alteraciones metabólicas con el desarrollo del cáncer.
Es miembro de la Sociedad Chilena de Reproducción y Desarrollo (SCHRD) y ha participado activamente en la formación de capital humano avanzado, la dirección de proyectos de investigación y la publicación de artículos científicos en revistas internacionales de alto impacto.
