Laboratorio de Fisiopatología Celular y Cáncer
Bioquímica de la Universidad de Santiago y doctora en Bioquímica de la Universidad de Chile, quien ha enfocado su carrera científica en el área de la reproducción femenina, obesidad y cáncer, realizando estudios basados en técnicas de Biología celular, comunicación celular y modelos que describan la fisiopatología de las enfermedades. Su investigación de pregrado fue sobre el rol del ambiente pro-inflamatorio en el control hormonal del transporte del ovulo en el oviducto bajo distintos contextos reproductivos. Luego, realizó su investigación doctoral (ANID) enfocada en el efecto del ambiente pro-inflamatorio asociado a obesidad sobre la acción de la insulina y el metabolismo glucosídico del endometrio de mujeres con fallas reproductivas. Después de eso, continuó su investigación a cargo del Proyecto Fondecyt Postdoctoral como Investigadora Principal. Esta investigación fue sobre el efecto del ambiente pro-inflamatorio sobre la señalización celular asociada a la progresión del cáncer de vesícula biliar. Actualmente, es Directora del Centro de Investigación Biomédica (CIB) e investigadora principal del Laboratorio de Fisiopatología Celular y Cáncer (FICEC) e investigadora responsable del proyecto de inserción (ANID) que estudia factores asociados a obesidad e infertilidad que pueden alterar la señalación y la comunicación celular para promover la aparición y/o progresión de cáncer en población femenina chilena. Además, la investigadora es miembro de la Sociedad Chilena de Reproducción y Desarrollo (SCHRD).
